Stressful day? Not hard to believe in today's world. So let's take this time to treat ourselves to a little relaxation. If you made it to this point, let's take a moment to kick back and love ourselves a little. This evening, we are going to kick back a little and chill to some vibes, burn a little yerba santa and sage on the charcoal and since we need to cool down I'm going talk to you about our clay masks and activated charcoal face masks. So we can clear some things up and elevate a little...
I'm sure you have read or know that on the daily we are exposed to several skin damaging elements like toxins, stress, and environmental pollutants-pollutants that cause issues like inflammation, bacterial imbalance, and toxicity. Now, one of the most effective ways to deal with detoxify is to start from within. Sometimes, that means heart space. Sometimes that means the foods we eat, beverages we consume, or the things we lace our temples with but let's not dive that deep yet. Even deeper, we can go generational trauma and ancestral walks or spiritual battles and how they have the potential to manifest into issues but we won't go there. Without being superficial, let's save deep and intense healing for a different conversation. Let's take the edge off first. Elementary level hygienically speaking, most of us probably don't have a regular skin routine and some of us dress down in make-up often enough that even if you do, we still thought about you.
One of the product lines we carry are clay and activated charcoal face masks. Not the kind of face masks that you strap to the back of your ears but rather, the kind that you take to the beach or the bathroom, and paint onto your face in preparation for me-time relaxation! The kind that you layer on when you just want to get away because you need:
⦁ Nourishment- Well, our face masks were created with that in mind. For instance, our Moroccan Red clay mask is made with rose hips and cranberry extract, among many other instrumental ingredients. One of those being clay. Clay in general is rich in a variety of nutrients including Calcium, Magnesium, Silica, Sodium, Copper, Iron, and Potassium. Moroccan Red Clay, mined beneath the Atlas Mountains, in particular is said to help even out blotchy skin tone, and reduce acne – specifically stubborn blackheads. A number of clinical studies There are many clinical studies that have found this type of clay to be effective for increasing skin elasticity due to its high silica and magnesium content.
Findings presented at the 12th meeting of the National Institute of Phytotherapy in Paris in 1985 (originally The Department for Traditional Medicine, within the National Institute for Research on Public Health (part of the Ministry of Health), founded in 1968) suggested that the he mineral properties include a high percentage of silica, magnesium, potassium, and calcium. Clinical studies conducted by two different research laboratories in the United States suggest that Rhassoul (also called Ghassoul) clay may help to reduce dryness, reduce flakiness, improve skin clarity, improve skin elasticity / firmness, improve skin texture, remove surface oil and oil from inside and around your comedons, removes dead skin layers, and result in a general smoothing of the surface skin without completely drying it out. In fact, when used in the right capacity it could help to:
⦁ Balance Oil- Many of us have oily skin by nature. that extracts impurities and excess oils without over-drying the skin. When first mined, Moroccan Red or Rhassoul clay appears as polished brown, soap-like clay, which is chunky in appearance and resembling rocks.
⦁ Detox & exfoliate-With additional refinement, the end product makes for a great addition to products for cleansing, detoxification, and general skin treatment. It can be used in or as soap, skin conditioner, shampoo, and facial and body mask
⦁ Circulation-.The oat beta glucan it contains is even said to encourage collagen production and increased cellular turnover while natural antioxidants neutralize free radical damage. Along with the natural cellular turnover, simply massaging the face mask into your face by way of texture, movement and gravity, using it encourages the exfoliation and removal of dirt as well as opening of pores. explaining why it's particularly useful for purifying, brightening, and strengthening the skin.
In fact, "All clays contain minerals that soothe skin and absorb excess oil, but the high levels of iron oxide in red clay explain why it’s particularly useful for purifying, brightening, and strengthening the skin,” one article quoted dermatologist Joshua Zeichner, the director of cosmetic and clinical research at Mount Sinai in New York City.
The use of clay or even activated charcoal facial masks is nothing new. They were used in the old ages and ancient, traditional, and even some modern texts suggest we have used it to help remedy skin issues as far back as 60 B.C through today.
Our Seaweed & Aloe activated charcoal facial cleansing mask or the Carrot & Ginseng Activated Charcoal facial cleansing mask would make a great additions to beneficial natural products in your repertoire.
